Dear Absent Member,
The meeting started as usual with
the minutes being read aloud and corrected to add Brenda to the
challenge quilt committee. The treasurer report was read and
accepted. The old business of the donated quilt which was given to the
art center was purchased by Heather at the RAC and was the highest
piece to be auctioned.
Lauren has a schedule for
the times we will be at the welcome center and the times we will be
quilting in the homes. Anyone interested in a place and time to
volunteer should contact Lauren. The pilgrimage has included the guild
in the brochure that handout to the visitors. (HOW NEAT) Diane made a
brochure of the guild to handout which will be left at the library, art
center, and the welcome center.
We have started a new
project which is a block of the month project that we will work on until
we have twelve blocks we have made in our own color choices to make a
quilt for display at the fall gathering in 2009 that we will be hosting.
We decided to use the
money in a split of 75% to go to education and 25% to general fund from
the raffle quilt. We voted that the next raffle quilt we will
be working on is going to be the State Fair sampler in shades of blue
and cream.
The first Sat. meeting will
not meet because we will be involved in the pilgrimage. Sandi will demo
the technique of making faux chenille at the next meeting and will teach
it on the workshop Sat.
The next month's block
lottery will be a 121/2" block made with blue and yellow. Terry won
the block lottery this month (CONGRATS).
Show and tell was short and
sweet. Sue brought the lap quilt she finished for the charity quilts
and so did Brenda. They both looked great. Annette brought a quilted
and framed fabric picture of her two granddaughters.
Well that's about all for
this month hope you can make the next meeting.
